The industry operates on a business model that’s evolved over many years and still hasn’t been able to rid itself of a reputation where agent continue to rate poorly in regards to honesty and ethics. In fact, the most recent Roy Morgan Image of Professions Survey 2016 has real estate agents coming in at 28th in a field of 30 professions surveyed, with only a 10% approval rating by respondents. Something’s not right.

At Private Property List we embrace and promote the concept that with the right coaching and support, people are quite capable of self-managing the sale of their properties. It’s about understanding the process and then making sure that there are the right people around in support,such as a good conveyancer to help with the contracts and any legal or compliance issues.

We’re keen to have the initial conversation to see where it leads. We have packages designed to suit experienced vendors who need little or no support or packages which offer professional assistance at any time you need it – 7 days a week.

For vendors who are just too busy or who decide it’s just not for them, we offer full agent support at a fixed price or other negotiated agreement. You don’t need to pay around 2% of the value of your property just to have somebody sell it for you.  I have previously worked for a big name national franchise agency and I know that our simpler business model and lower operating costs allows us to offer clients significant reductions in agent fees without compromising service standards in any way.

Just about every industry on the planet has changed or is in the process of change. In Australia, the real estate industry seems to be lagging behind, still operating under an outdated business model that’s in need of a serious re-think.

We know that the overall industry perception is not that great and has lacked integrity for a long time. That’s not something anyone in the industry should be proud of and that’s why at PPL we’ve been driven to question the way things are done and to look for ways to engage more meaningfully with all the key players – vendors, purchasers, conveyancers and finance professionals.

At PPL we’ve decided on a unique business model centred on what’s in the client’s best interests – that’s our starting point. It might be helping them manage the sale of their property themselves (a growing market) or offering full agent support at a fixed fee for those who prefer this option. Either way, it’s a great conversation to have and an opportunity to share valuable market insights to better educate clients on the intricacies of a property transaction. After all, in this day and age isn’t it all about consumer education and communication?

We are also strongly committed to taking service delivery to a whole new level and have invested in some awesome emerging technologies to custom design a CRM that will blow your mind!
